John Derian Home Store Opens

john derian!

Your last toe dip into the flea market pool netted you a seashell-festooned lamp, an “antique” Gone Fishin’ sign, and second-degree sunburn.

Makes you want to leave the sourcing to the experts.

Like John Derian, whose faultless eye has made him the darling of vintage decor denizens. And with his new Provincetown home store (his third retail venture), you can reap the benefits of his Parisian market-meets-New-England-meets-Ye Old Curiosity Shoppe aesthetic.

Open on weekends and by appointment, it sells linoleum prints by Brit artist Hugo Guinness, 18th-century-inspired handmade pottery, and paper mache figurines by English craftswoman Julie Arkell. And, of course, Derian’s own vintage-print decoupage glassware.

Housed in an attached carriage house, the charming space makes you want to toss your mass-produced homewares and start anew.

In a rough-hewn, bygone-era sort of way, of course.
