The Thrill of the Hunt

Hansel: Um, Gretel? The witch said I’m the one who’s supposed to eat all the sweets. You know, to fatten up?

Gretel: Shut up, dude. You can have everything else. The chocolates are mine.

Hansel: But …

Gretel: Mine.

Wicked witches be damned, some things are worth fighting for. And the cocoa confections of newly minted chocolatier Robert Hunt definitely qualify.

The Winthrop-based photographer-cum-candyman makes truffles and bite-size dessert cups using sophisticated, all-natural ingredients. Seriously scrumptious options include a dark chocolate Grand Marnier cup topped with 24-karat gold leaf, a strawberry cheesecake truffle with white chocolate ganache and jam, and a creme brulee cup.

Our box (we asked for the one with Hunt’s scenic Boston pic on the front) disappeared so fast, you’d never know it existed.

Except for that trail of crumbs.
