the insider's guide to your city
DailyCandy is a handpicked selection of all that's fun, fashionable, food related, and culturally stimulating in the city you’re fixated on (and all over the Web).
When it comes to openings (Topshop Beantown!) and closings (Boston Globe forever!), we’ve wished upon many a star and flaming birthday cake.
Here’s one that was worth a wayward eyelash: Pinkyotto has come to Boston.
The three-year-old fashion import opens its only shop outside of NY on Newbury Street today. The little boutique stocks its own vintage-inspired designs — the work of creative director and Pratt grad Ryo Liu.
Each piece has a relaxed yet super-stylized look and feel (think chic Parisian meets kick-ass anime). We love the Popeye dress (Olive Oyl is a sexy beast) and the abstract Paint frock.
The store cuts only a few sizes of every item, so when it’s gone, it’s gone. And since almost everything is under $200, you run the risk of missing out on the quickly changing inventory.
But, you know, think positive.
Pinkyotto, 156 Newbury Street (617-236-1238 or pinkyotto.com).
