Fish Fry

Dorado Tacos & Cemitas Opens

Your last trip to SoCal netted you a wicked sunburn, flashy board shorts (enough already, surfer girl), and an affinity for authentic Baja-style fish tacos.

Feast your eyes on Dorado Tacos & Cemitas, opening in Brookline tomorrow. Doug Organ, former owner of the now-closed Cafe D, has rolled out his old resto’s biggest seller (the fish taco) into a simple, cheap new concept.

Splashed in orange, yellow, and blue, the tiny counter-service spot dishes four styles of fish tacos (traditional with beer-battered whitefish, spicy, Asian, and grilled) along with chorizo, chicken, steak, and portobello. There’s also a killer cemita, a two-fisted sandwich stuffed with your choice of meat, black beans, chipotle in adobo, avocado, cilantro, and Oaxaca cheese.

Do your roomies a solid and take home a rotisserie half chicken plate or sides like Mexican rice.

They’ll think you’re rad, dude.

Dorado Tacos & Cemitas, 401 Harvard Street, Brookline (617-566-2100 or doradotacos.com).
