Forgoing formaldehyde (about time), the process leaves strands smooth and shiny— but not lifelessly straight. First, three washes using a detoxifying shampoo leave locks squeaky clean. Then they’re coated in half-inch sections with a chocolate-smelling solution before getting the once-over with a flat iron, moisturizing mask, and final blow dry.

Everything takes about two hours and, unlike similar treatments, you can shower right away. But the big news: For up to twelve weeks, your hair will be no fuss, no muss.
