We always felt bad for the little piggie that had to stay home.
And now we know why: Market by Jean-Georges Vongerichten opens tomorrow. (Yes, it’s really happening.)
Tucked in the back of the spankin’ new W Hotel (also opening tomorrow), the sleek resto has a chic driftwood vibe — washed-out gray and brown floors, creamy leather benches, sea urchin bud vases.
The menu is a simple yet elegant mash-up of French, Asian, and Italian flavors (it’s Jean-Georges’s thing). The culinary god scoured Boston’s local vegetable markets and scouted Beantown fish mongers to supply cod with shimeji mushrooms and miso-yuzu broth and soy-glazed short ribs with apple-jalapeno puree and rosemary crumbs.
The tasty bar offerings include black truffle pizza with fontina.
For those times you just want to belly up.
