Lette It Be

Kleine Sofia Sconelettes

kleine scones!

Layoffs. Pay cuts. Shrinkage.

We’re not usually big fans of downsizing.

But it’s easy to feel good about cutting back with Sofia Sconelettes from Kleine (“little one” in German). Despite their diminutive size, the mini scones (both plain and chocolate dipped) pack a wallop of ginger, making them perfect for breakfast, afternoon tea, or dessert.

Local pastry chef Treasa Ewing uses Strauss butter and cream, and crystallizes her own ginger from the farmers market for the teensy treats. She even designs the ecofriendly packaging at her letterpress studio, In Haus Press.

Ewing occasionally whips up versions with seasonal dried fruit — but you have to contact her to find out what’s available.

Really, it’s a small sacrifice.
