To start with, yum. Not cheap, but the foods and drinks were fabulous. The maple-glazed wings were scrumptious and I don't even like maple syrup (though, according to the chef, there was also a lot of bourbon in that glaze). The chef and one of the owners were out and about, and all the staff were very friendly. Also loved the attention to the origins of the alcohols in the wine booklet, and whether they were organic, sustainable, etc. And if I remember right, mezcal had a whole little eulogy dedicated to it. The restaurant is certified green and it shows, which is awesome, because it's gratifying to enjoy yourself so much and be more environmentally friendly. If you're up for a splurge, want to pamper your palate and eat more sustainably at the same time, I can't recommend UpStairs on the Square highly enough.
