Now that you’re a parent, you’re not above asking for help. (Yes, that was you in the chat room at 3 a.m. trolling for diaper rash tips.)
Allow us to introduce you to a more personal support system: KickSprout. The parenting community/resource hosts educational and social events for those new to child rearing. It bloomed into being when local couple Carlo and Leasa Navarro had their first baby; despite reading umpteen books on everything from sleep training to food, they felt the best advice would come from other parents.
To that end, KickSprout events (about five a month) are as much about interacting with attendees as they are about learning from experts. The ever-changing calendar might include anything from parent-and-tot yoga to baby food making to childproofing lessons — all at top kids’ spots around town. Buckle down more regularly with recurring moms groups, family playdates, and breastfeeding support groups.
Registration is quick and easy. In other words: no mousing around.
Sign up online at kicksprout.com, free-$25.
