Translation: Get your ass to Telegraph wine bar.
The just-opened Logan Square gem will fly under the radar for only so long. Our advice? Go early and you’ll get your worm.
The wine list brims with small-batch, biodynamic varietals (the owners are also behind Webster’s Wine Bar and The Bluebird). Servers are generous with tastings and pairing suggestions and light on pretense.
Chef John Anderes’s (Avec) menu surprises at every turn. Grilled cucumbers add earthy crunch to a salad; velvety cured salmon and marinated roe dress up a perfectly crisped baguette. Tartines are endlessly satisfying and easy on the wallet ($7-$9). Whatever the nightly special is, order it (fried burrata with shaved artichoke swimming in a balsamic reduction, code di topo pasta with wild mushrooms).
Go whenever you have the impulse.
