Sometimes being yourself just doesn’t cut it (see: Sam Merlotte, Lady Gaga).
694 Wine & Spirits concurs: Tonight marks the launch of Shift Series.
Two nights a month in the bar’s makeshift kitchen, a roster of the city’s best chefs will prepare six-course suppers for 25 lucky diners. The 694 booze aficionados pair small-batch pours with every course.
Kicking things off, In Fine Spirits’s chef de cuisine Marianne Sundquist’s (Avenues, Spiaggia) Last Harvest dinner highlights the season’s finest produce (heirloom tomatoes, apples, beets).
On October 3, S&M’s Underground (a private dining club with a hankering for American Indian fusion) warms bellies with a meatball trio, lamb curry beef Wellington, and carrot turmeric cake with beet mascarpone icing.
Upcoming chefs include The Wagyu Wagon’s Aaron Crumbaugh and Homage Street Food’s Mike Maloney.
Both promise to be a Bon Temps.
