How to spend a day at Bar Toma (opening tomorrow).
8 a.m. Get dressed. Unlike Spiaggia, this Tony Mantuano joint is casual.
9 a.m. Sidle up to the Italian-style coffee bar for Illy espresso, fresh citrus juice, and honey-ricotta cornetti (like croissants made from brioche).
11 a.m. Order a snack from the mozzarella bar: stuffed with San Marzano tomatoes or cured salmon, or creamy burrata with Sicilian sea salt (everything is sourced from Italy or the Midwest).
1 p.m. Several bar plates equals a delicious lunch: charred carrots with Capriole goat cheese, fried calamari with caper aioli, seared mortadella.
3 p.m. Don’t be shy. Try the Tomanata cocktail (sambuca, lemon, honey).
7 p.m. Time for thin-crust pizza from the wood-burning oven (lamb sausage with harissa and manchego, spicy meatball, littleneck clam).
9 p.m. Lick your way through tartufi or seasonal fruit gelato. Or, you know, both.
