When it comes to baking, Frenchies have a certain je ne sais quoi. (Evidence: Warm baguettes are now available in Parisian vending machines.)
No one knows better than Dawn Ly, a kitchen whiz who recently gave up full-time graphic design, snagged a degree from The French Pastry School, and launched new tiny-treat company Sweet Petite.
Now, armed with French techniques, Ly bakes a stellar assortment of tartlets to order at Kitchen Chicago.
Despite the size, each mini packs a flavorful, not-too-sweet punch: salted caramel with dark chocolate ganache, lemon curd with toasted meringue, bourbon brown sugar and pecans, and lemon mascarpone with blueberry confiture.
Pastry shells are crumbly but don’t fall apart. Order by the dozen or half dozen for select home delivery or pickup.
@%%$# delicious savory tarts are coming soon.
Pardon our French.
