When you hit 30, a few things become apparent.
One of them is that using paper plates is an act reserved for twentysomethings.
Stock up on collectible kitchenware at The Hutch, which opened Friday in Andersonville. Owner Daniel Malone also runs covetable housewares store Roost (stop at both — they’re kitty-corner from each other), and his stellar taste knows no bounds.
Vintage hutches and an antique dollhouse artfully display colorful teacups, platters, dinner and dessert plates, pitchers, and retro pieces (milk glass lemon juicers, Pyrex casserole dishes). Malone loves mixing and matching, so most pieces are sold individually (buy six or more from a set, though, and you’ll score 20 percent off). Rows of blue glass Ball jars and silver serving pieces abound.
Who says the ’20s are more fun?
What a crock.
The Hutch, 1550 West Olive Avenue, at Clark Street. For more information, call Roost at 773-506-0406.
