The Purple Cow Ice Cream Cafe

A new cone to pick

the purple cow ice cream cafe!

Summer’s early onset has your cravings in a bunch.

Cool off at Wicker Park’s Purple Cow Ice Cream Cafe, opening tomorrow.

A few months back, the year-old Uptown favorite (named after an old-school catchphrase for an ice cream shop) shuttered. The new iteration is better than ever, adding a slew of sweets to the already-packed menu.

Go simple with a cup or cone (Moose Tracks and coconut are favorites) or make your cavities tingle with shakes, sundaes, and banana splits. Keep guilt at bay with frozen yogurt and Italian ice.

Rounding out the retro options: locally made candy (chocolate turtles, caramels) and caramel and cheese popcorn.

Stroller pushers, bike riders, and dog walkers can revel in the beauty of the takeout window.

Holy …
