Field & Florist Flower Subscription Service

Fill your home with buds

field & florist!

The last time someone said you had nice stems, you kept walking.

Heidi Joynt welcomes such comments.

Her new flower subscription service, Field & Florist, proffers ten weeks of sustainably grown blooms plucked from her flower farm on the far south side of Chicago.

After her day job at the Chicago Botanic Garden, she heads out to tend, plant, and harvest unusual and mainstream seeds.

Each week brings you ten to fifteen stems — heirloom sunflowers, purple basil, flowering sage, blooming onions, snow-on-the-mountain, black scabiosa, dahlias — artfully arranged in Joynt’s organic style. Since they don’t travel far (unlike store-bought flowers), the pesticide-free blossoms smell like the garden.

Later this year, Joynt will teach young women from Cook County Sheriff’s Women’s Justice Department gardening and floral design.

We’re rooting for her.

To sign up, email heidi@fieldandflorist.com. Pickups begin mid-July in Andersonville; cost is $150. For more information, go to fieldandflorist.com.
