People who don’t love rewatching You’ve Got Mail:

a) hate Tom Hanks.
b) hate books.
c) hate themselves.
d) none of the above.

The answer is D (obviously; who hates Tom Hanks?). Pat yourself on the back with a visit to City Lit Books, Logan Square’s version of The Shop Around the Corner.

The new storefront is everything you want in a bookshop: charming, knowledgeable owner (Teresa Kirschbraun), painstakingly edited selection, personal touches (Kirschbraun happily places special orders for customers). The fireplace doesn’t hurt, either.

Diverse, thoughtful sections (manga, indie, banned books, exciting cookbooks, even a Spanish literature wall curated by two Hispanic studies grads) and handwritten staff picks point you toward lesser-known titles.

Local authors dig it, too (Scott Kenemore made an appearance last week; Scott Jacobs is up next).

Aw, Kindle.

Can’t blame you for ’Ryan.
