Break a Sweat with the Mercury Method

The heat is on

mercury method!

Your mom taught you to avoid mercury.

But rebellion tastes so sweet.

Go rogue at Mercury Method, Wicker Park’s new fitness studio (and bound-to-be craze), soft opening this weekend. San Francisco transplant/Pilates guru Lara Hudson created MM to sate clients’ appetite for a workout that combines Pilates, yoga, cardio, and strength training.

The scoop: A 98.6-degree room (a.k.a. thermoregulatory equilibrium), bumpin’ music, mood lighting, and three 60-minute classes designed to strengthen muscles from the inside out. Control emphasizes your core and back; Strength is a power muscle workout (shoulders, back, legs); Stamina involves a vinyasa-like flow.

Hudson recommends mixing three to five classes a week for serious toning and slimming.

Intrigued? MM debuts with free community classes tomorrow and Sunday.

The best part: You’ll be home by curfew.
