You’re doing your best to be good during the holidays.
Think of us as the devil on your shoulder: Get thee to Lizzie’s Bake Shoppe.
The West Town charmer is sweet in every way. Owner Elizabeth Isaacs trained at the Culinary Institute of America before stints at Sur la Table and Le Cordon Bleu. Now she’s got a place to call her own.
Isaacs gave the space a decidedly ’60s vibe: Formica dining table and chairs, mod fixtures, an apron-lined wall. Mornings look brighter with buttery croissants and decadent cookie bars. A pastry case woos with miniature pies (flavors rotate weekly), gorgeous cakes (Isaacs does custom orders, too), and cake truffles (try the sweet corn).
Locally roasted Big Shoulders coffee and eccentric beverages (Ramune soda, house-made flavored milk) help wash it down.
