What: Chicago-based air fresheners ($14) designed for dudes. Aromas recall a European sports car (worn leather, aftershave), a bourbon distillery (charred oak), and a hunting lodge (hearthstone, gunpowder, timber).
Why: Scents blast from a WD-40 can.

Brunch at Carriage House
What: Rise to low-country cooking with the new menu of Southern classics (fried chicken with waffle, Pullman French toast with caramelized bananas and sorghum whipped cream).
Why: Get bright-eyed with cocktails such as the Carriage House Mimosa (Miller High Life, Buffalo Trace bourbon, freshly squeezed orange juice, orange bitters).

What: Head bartender Alex Gara and head barista Alex McDaniel blend their liquid assets to create a menu of gourmet espresso-based craft cocktails and spiked hot chocolates.
Why: The Seraph blends Benedictine, A.E. DOR VS cognac, house-made pumpkin spice, espresso, steamed whole milk, and ground nutmeg.

What: Author/poet Kevin Coval emcees a night of spoken word performance, music, and movement (stepping, breaking, footworking) that traces the evolution of Chicago dance.
Why: Proceeds benefit Young Chicago Authors, a nonprofit that provides resources and education to budding writers.
