It’s 7:30. You’ve got a dinner party at 8. You’re giftless, and your dry shampoo is, um, dry.
Do you show up empty-handed or stringy stranded?
Neither, thanks to Thomas + Henry, a new Old Town shop doing double duty: gifts for the discerning host and, in a few months, a hair salon.
Owners Jim Jostes (a veteran hairstylist) and Paul Lechlinski also run Room Service in Andersonville, so they know a thing or two about merchandising.
T+H achieves a delicate balance between vintage and modern: candles and soaps from Brooklyn’s Apotheke (the charcoal scrub is especially interesting), lotion and soap products by Further, mod vintage barware.
Jeff Koons-inspired balloon dog bookends, burl wood cutting boards, and white porcelain robot figurines are a welcome respite from the ubiquitous bottle of wine.
While your gift is being wrapped, spring for a cut or color (blowouts are included with each service).
And say goodbye to wigging out.
