Lucha Libre Lunch (or Dinner)
Now entering the ring, Tacos Punta Cabras!
From heavyweight tag team Daniel Snukal and Josh Gil of underground Supper Liberation Front comes a Santa Monica micro cantina that packs a killer one-two-three punch: tacos, tostadas, and cocteles.
Made-to-order corn hybrid tortillas swaddle fresh fish battered in tempura and topped with citrus cabbage slaw. Tostadas (scallop, shrimp, or cauliflower) get an extra kick from creamy cashew salsa or fluffy pineapple habanero, while chilled cocteles (think exotic ceviche) highlight rotating seafood soon to include sea urchin, whelk, and Baja clams.
For those tackling special diets, gluten-free tempura and marinated tofu are also on the table.
Hibiscus agua fresca and authentic icy raspados ensure it all goes down easy.
