What: A new midday menu turns your siesta into a fiesta.

Mastin Kipp’s Enter the Heart Tour
What: The founder and writer of inspirational dot-com The Daily Love brings his emo tour to the heartland.
Why: Finding love ain’t easy (or cheap — tickets are $125 a pop), but hey, Kipp’s an Oprah favorite. Bonus: additional insight from kundalini teacher Tommy Rosen.
When: Sun., 6-10 p.m.

Meet the Market with RM and One Part Plant
What: Green City Market’s final event of the season includes a complimentary plant-based menu, courtesy of chef Jared Van Camp (Old Town Social, Nellcôte) and inspired by local vegan blogger Jessica Murnane.
Why: Veggie-packed eats feature produce from Iron Creek Farm and Nichols Farm & Orchard, while Journeyman Distillery delivers on seasonal craft cocktails ($6-$8) — all to benefit the market.

Annual Harvest Dinner at The Publican
Publican chef Brian Huston and Fred Bueltmann of New Holland Brewing Company team up for a feel-good meal of farm-fresh fare paired with Michigan brews.
Why: Vicki Westerhoff’s (Genesis Growers) jalapeno poppers, Mick Klug Farm fruit salad, locally raised steak, and Basque cake with mixed berries and sweet corn ice cream.
When: Tues., 5:30-10:30 p.m.

Inventing Van Gogh
What: The story behind Van Gogh’s last self-portrait and its mysterious connection to Patrick Stone, a contemporary artist haunted by the painting.
Why: The lobby of the studio has been transformed into a working artist’s studio, complete with works by local creatives inspired by Van Gogh’s Yellow Period.
When: Fri. & Sat., 8 p.m.; Sun., 2 p.m.

Block Party

What: Wicker Park hotspots Carriage House and Bangers & Lace team up with nonprofit UN86’D to benefit restaurant workers in need.
Why: The $35 entry fee includes everything — cotton candy and s’mores, a dunk tank, music by Sons of the West and Power Haunts, adult beverages — and goes to a good cause.

Leaning Shed Farm Tomato Dinner at 2 Sparrows
What: The Michigan farm (our go-to source for heirloom varieties at Green City Market) and chef Gregory Ellis throw a four-course dinner honoring summer’s fruit.
Why: OD on gazpacho with crab, tomatoes three ways, and tomato pot de creme for dessert.
