Lift Your Spirits with Wilks & Wilson

Small-batch cocktail accoutrements made in the Midwest

wilks & wilson!

Your cocktail cred is illin’ — and not in a good way.

Call upon elixir fixer Wilks & Wilson.

The Indianapolis-based company crafts impeccable renditions of old-school cocktail accompaniments using meticulously sourced (mostly organic) ingredients.

Founders Gregory Wilson and Zachari Wilks could double as historians, often going to great lengths to research and uncover ancient recipes. Fun fact: They tracked down an orgeat recipe from 1880 — in French. Wilson’s sister translated it, tweaks were made — eliminating cyanide, for starters — and their version was born.

An imaginary Victorian character with a whimsical backstory personifies each elixir (see site for details). Sir Teddy’s Tonic contains gentian root, historically used to treat digestive disorders, and allspice oil for moody depth. Gertrude’s Gomme, a formerly extinct syrup, adds a velvety feel to any drink.

To further elevate your experience, each elixir comes with an accompanying bespoke cocktail recipe. (Another fun fact: Wilks founded Indy’s first craft cocktail bar). Stir Genevieve’s Grenadine into a Jack Rose, or Giovanna’s Ginger Simple into a Lemon Snap.

Look for a line of bitters in early 2014.

Drinking to your health just got easier.
