Welcome Home Leah Ball’s Beautiful Ceramics

We dish on the jewelry designer’s new collection

leah ball ceramics!

Leah Ball is a known metal winner. But her latest work is on another level — literally.

The longtime jeweler’s new hanging planters made from marbled porcelain are gorgeous enough to display without plants. Equally as eye catching? Bowls, plates, mugs, and platters cut from the same clay.

Ball’s knack for ceramics (discovered during a sculpting class at Lillstreet Art Center) coupled with a nesting instinct brought on by moving in with her boyfriend led her to start dabbling in home decor. After months of experimenting with color and texture, she settled on crisp white designs splashed with dreamy waves of blue, black, and pale pink.

The vibrant blue even made its way onto her newest necklaces and rings: The enamel detailing feels fresh without veering too far from her original style.

That deserves a high five.

Available at Fleur, 3149 West Logan Boulevard, at North Kedzie Boulevard (773-395-2770 or fleurchicago.com); at leah-ball.com and etsy.com, $40-$180.
