Say Cheese

Take-out eaters are notorious creatures of habit.

So chances are, if you’re a Lincoln Park foodie in search of a pick-up meal, you’re headed straight for Marcey St. Market or Trotters-to-Go.

But we hope you’re not too settled in your ways to venture around the corner onto Western Avenue and try the Cheese Stands Alone, a new artisanal cheese shop. Start with a few specialty fromages, pair with a favorite bottle of wine and bread from Red Hen, and you’re good to go for a quick snack or dinner. Our current picks include American raw-milk cheeses and aged manchego, but given that the shop offers over 100 varieties, experimentation is encouraged.

Though we know it’s not your strong suit.
