A Cellar's Market

The Book Cellar

Once upon a time, you relished nursing a latte over a juicy book at the corner café. Then you — ever so bravely — gave up caffeine. Now entering a coffeehouse to steal a few moments with your latest read is just plain depressing.

Need a new nook? Change your vice. The Book Cellar, a charming new indie bookstore in Lincoln Square, offers great literature as well as a supremely edited wine collection. Carry one of their page-turners (everything from new releases to debuts by local authors) over to the store’s cafe and sip wine by the glass (or, heck, go for War and Peace and a whole bottle).

The Cellar also serves salads, sandwiches, and other light fare for you to nosh on as you break in your new read. And might we suggest it as the perfect spot to host your hard-hitting book club?

Indeedy. Good thing you’re still on the sauce.

The Book Cellar, 4736-38 North Lincoln Avenue, between Lawrence and Leland Avenues (773-293-2665).
