Cocktails with a Twist

Wabash Tap Guest Bartending

Okay, so you wouldn’t put Cocktail on your top-ten-movies list. (It wouldn’t make the top 15,000.)

But ever since you watched Tom Cruise slamming glasses, tossing bottles, and juggling romance, you’ve wonder: How hard could it be?

Don’t quit your day job just yet. But do consider this: Every Wednesday night, the Wabash Tap invites folks to take a turn behind the bar for a good cause. From 7 to 10 p.m., you pour, your friends pay, and all of your hard-earned tips go directly to the charity of your choice. The only prerequisite — duh — is that you’re over 21. Other than that, the bar’s yours — you invite the crowd, set the pace, and control the tunes. No need for a crash course in Velvet Hammers and Alabama Slammers; there’s a professional bartender on hand to back you up. Soon you’ll be slinging the sauce like a pro.

The hours are sure to cruise right by.

Wabash Tap, 1233 South Wabash Avenue, at Roosevelt Road (312-360-9488). To participate, e-mail owner Mike Cain three weeks prior to the date you’re interested in at mcain@wabashtap.com.
