A word to the wise: Owls are cool.
They can spin their heads almost all the way around. They’re sneaky ambush hunters. And their image has been used to promote everything from environmental responsibility to Tootsie Pops.
New label Liness has clearly caught on. It debuts this fall with Owliness, a collection of earth-toned, soft-jersey knits and oversize sweatshirts bearing unique screen-printed illustrations of the aforementioned birds of prey — in just about any way you can picture them. Owls in trees, Native American owls, girls dressed as owls, abstracted owls, owls in flight, owls in space (really) … All of which adds to their whole weirdly cute, mysteriously wise, impressively fierce creature-of-the-night image.
So just think what it will do for yours.
