What Would Martha Do?

White Attic shop

While eveyone’s favorite home-makeover messiah is doing time (and penance) in the big house, your home is suffering for her sins. (Goodness! Are those plastic flowers on your dining room table?)

Luckily, devoted Martha Stewart acolyte Terry Ledford is here to lend a hand.

Inside the White Attic, Ledford’s tiny shop, you’ll find a selection of impeccably refurbished antique chests, tables, and dressers. Each piece is handpainted in creamy whites or pastels. And, much like Martha, Ledford leaves no detail unattended. Furniture is painted front and back. The insides of drawers are finished in contrasting hues or covered in funky vintage wallpaper. Plus, custom orders are now available.

You can also choose from a cozy cashmere, cotton, or wool throw, Voluspa candles, and fantastic ceramics (both vintage and new) — any of which will give your home the attention it’s been craving.

Or at least tide you over until the Second Coming.

White Attic, 5408 North Clark Street, at Balmoral Avenue (773-907-9800).
