Something sickeningly sweet this way comes.

Yuh-huh. The countdown to V-Day has begun.

The antidote to the approaching tide of saccharine? Something delicious to remind you how sweet sweetness can be. Like Terry Opalek’s Terry’s Toffee. Having toiled away in the sales and marketing world for 20 years, Opalek and his partner, Michael Frontier, left the 9 to 5 grind to make the old-world treat (the basic recipe is a riff on his grandma’s) — with a twist.

Toffee comes in inventive flavors, like Global Blend (Mediterranean coriander, Australian ginger, and Tahitian vanilla), Lavenilla (French lavender and Tahitian vanilla), and Chai-Town Spice (cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg) — all hand-dipped in milk, white, or dark chocolate.

So eat up. There’s no chance of it spoiling your appetite for Valentine’s Day.
