City living has its perks. Late-night burrito joints, dog parks, public transportation …
But when it comes to the space to host a dinner party, you gotta admit, the burbs have cornered the market.
Don’t ditch your condo just yet. Jordan’s Food of Distinction, a new private showroom/studio/kitchen in Wicker Park, is perfect for hosting your next soiree, and owner Jordan Spritz is more than qualified to man the kitchen.
While still in high school, Spritz started cooking under Chef Don Yamauchi at Gordon. After that he headed to the Culinary Institute of America, did a stint alongside Rocco DiSpirito, and spent time at Charlie Trotter’s and Le Francais — all before his 23rd birthday.
JFOD holds up to 60 people and is available for everything from cocktail parties to sit-down dinners. And no detail goes unattended here. After customizing your menu, Spritz pairs the courses with appropriate wine and music. And since it’s his kitchen, not yours, there are no tables to set, no dishes to clear, and no pots to clean.
A perk you’d be hard pressed to find in a dining room in the burbs.
Jordan’s Food of Distinction, 1551 West Thomas Street,
between Ashland Avenue, and North Milwaukee Avenue (773-278-8111). By appointment only.
