Oh, there you are, Miss Know It All. A couple of questions for ya.
What’s the quickest way from the Loop to Bucktown? Ninety-four to Augusta straight up Milwaukee. How long do you cook a soft-boiled egg? Four minutes. And what’s the newest place to grab a post-work glass of wine? Duh, Vintage.
Looks like someone’s slipping.
The correct answer is Volo, a wine and food bar that opens this week in Roscoe Village. Volo means “flight” in Italian (but we’re sure you already knew that), so you can bet your sweet grapes there’s plenty of vino. And, because wine should always be enjoyed with food (as you’ve always said), you’ll find a great selection of nibbles like Thai braised short ribs, Malpec oysters, and pesto potato pizza. And just in case you’re foggy on the difference between a Zin and a Syrah (child’s play!), the menu includes helpful symbols to help you pair like a pro.
Come summer, the rustic vineyard garden in back, complete with trellised vines and daybed cabanas, may just be the coolest place to chill.
But it’s not like we needed to tell you that.
