Sparky put in some serious time keeping you warm this winter. Don’t you dare leave him behind with your coat and scarf. Make sure you’re both ready for the dog days of summer.

Do toss Fido a Buddyweiser of his own (Barker & Meowsky, 1003 West Armitage Avenue; 773-868-0200). If he thinks you’re sharing your cold brew, he’s barking up the wrong tree.

Don’t offer lame excuses while you lap up Cold Stone. Dish out Chilly Dawg frozen treats in flavors like Beggin’ Banana and Puppy Nutter.

Do put a twist on happy hour. Reserve a table at Scoozi (410 West Huron Street; 312-943-5900) for Doggie Dining, Mondays from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., and let puppy chow down on a canine cannoli.

Don’t reduce Cooper to cheap highlights. Spritz him with sunscreen to protect his coat.

Don’t assume everyone likes jogging by the lake. The Doggie Transit Authority of Bark Chicago will chauffeur your fur ball around town.
