Grazed and Confused

You understand the importance of finishing what you start.

Last night’s leftover pizza? Done deal. That bottle of Chianti that accompanied it? No prob. Your copy of James Joyce’s Ulysses gathering dust on your nightstand? Well, some things are a bit more challenging.

Fortunately, Siobhan Straka of Grazers Gourmet doesn’t feel that way. Her new bakery, opening this weekend, is the result of a culinary school class project she put together fourteen years ago. Once you taste her handmade granolas (cranberry pistachio, blueberry cardamom), shortbreads (key lime, chocolate chili), cookies, and muffins, you’ll agree these treats were worth waiting for.

Siobhan uses top ingredients like extra-rich Plugrá butter, Belgian chocolates, cherries from Door County, and herbs from her own garden. Grazers Gourmet also features Straka’s own  blend of fair-trade, shade-grown coffees, as well as cakes and pies — and even gourmet doggie treats.

Grab a table inside or head out back to the garden.

A perfect setting to get reacquainted with one Mr. James Joyce.
