Down to the Wireless

Chicago Wi-Fi Guide

wi-fi!

Chicago was recently named the  No. 2 city for wireless internet (second only to tech-tropolis San Francisco). Rumor has it the city is going completely wireless, but in the meantime, you can update your blog, check e-mail, and, of course, read DailyCandy here:

Tall Soy Latte, Hold the Whip and Wires
Head to Argo Tea Cafe (958 West Armitage Avenue, at Sheffield Avenue, 773-388-1880; and 819 North Rush Street, at Pearson Street; 312-951-5302) because, duh, tea is the new coffee. Need your beans? They serve only the best from Illy. Go to Kristoffer’s Cafe & Bakery (1733 South Halsted Street, at 17th Place; 312-829-4150) for the chess tournaments, coffee, and cakes — stay for the Wi-Fi. They’ll even spot you a network card if you leave yours at home.

It’s Their Civic Duty
Get inspired by Picasso at Daley Plaza (50 West Washington Street, at Dearborn Street; 312-603-2526) and do some serious people-watching while working online. Bookworms jump online at one of the 79 Chicago Public Libraries.

Eat, Sync, and Be Merry
Kick back and relax at Kitsch’n River North (600 West Chicago Avenue, at Larrabee Street; 312-644-1500), where the award-winning hangover brunch is served with a side of free Wi-Fi. The Lion Head Pub (2251 North Lincoln Avenue, between Belden and Webster Avenues; 773-348-5100) offers complimentary connection with every purchase. And Love’s Yogurt  (770 North Halsted Street, at Chicago Avenue; 312-572-4445) hooks you up with more than just peanut butter fro yo.

Hey. Anything to facilitate your online addiction.
