Working Girl

That plunging V-neck chemise you wore to the office last week didn’t go over very well with corporate. And the too-tight tartan mini? Say hello, pink slip.

But before you barge in to the VP of human resources and let loose about the meaning of business casual, check out Laila Azhar’s new fall collection. Designer Laila Dairi has created apparel that’s clean-cut enough for work (read: no inappropriate slits for the guys in accounting to ogle) but stylish enough for play.

Pieces include double-breasted tweed jackets paired with drapey, knee-length jersey skirts. And kick-pleat wool skirts that look smashing with button-up silk charmeuse blouses (you choose how low to go). The look — structured and free-flowing in bold colors like crimson and royal blue — finally solves that age-old work/fashion dilemma.

Now, if you could just figure out how that Epson printer works.
