May Street Market Opens

In the ongoing war between “may” (“May I go the bathroom, Miss Peterson?”) and “can” (“Can I get a witness?”), we present this lesson.

If your pal asks if you can tell her about May Street Market, you should inform her that it’s opening tonight in River West and that the chef, Alex Cheswick (Le Francais, Tru), is a CIA-trained wunderkind who works with the freshest ingredients from local farmers.

When she asks if she may join you for dinner, tell her to meet you for a drink in the comfy lounge at 7. And see if she can bring a bottle of wine, as it’s BYOB for the first few weeks.

Once you’re seated, the waitress will undoubtedly inquire if she may take your order. Think about trying the trio of burgers (sirloin, Mahi tuna, and venison) or pecan-crusted pork chop. And for dessert, may we suggest sharing the white chocolate pomegranate tart and crème brûlée?

It may be a perfect end to your night.
