Me Talk Pretty One Day
Language Boutique Opens

It’s good to set goals.
By 2007 we’d like to be fluent in a language other than Pig Latin.
Utbay etslay ebay onesthay erehay, at’sthay obablypray otnay oinggay otay appenhay.
Unless the tongue you’re looking to master is fashion. In which case Wicker Park’s newest boutique, Language (opening Thursday), is your spot for a crash course in style. The sleek, narrow space stocks silk tops from Sunner, flirty frocks by Ilana Moses and Debra Rodman, and all-round groovy picks from Grey Ant.
Don’t come here for yet another jeans-and-tee overindulgence. Those selections are kept to a minimum, and the only dungarees in stock are the too-hyped Genetic Denim.
Language will help you get fluent in dressing up (or down) the same piece with accessories like Ama handmade leather belts, Angel Jackson snakeskin bags, and lightweight ruffled leather jackets from Montreal’s Mackage.
So whenever you walk into a room your look will speak volumes.
You know. Without ever saying a word.
Language, 1537 North Milwaukee Avenue, between North Avenue and Division Street (773-772-5744 or language-chicago.com).
