What I Did on My Summer Vacation

StoryStudio Chicago

It was supposed to be the summer of the Great American Novel. Not to read, but to pen.

Instead you spent it plowing through chick lit and mai tais at the beach. (Self-discipline was never your forte.)

Get back on track this fall with classes at StoryStudio Chicago, a center for writers that’s run by writers. The Northside spot offers a range of courses for all types of wordsmiths, from memoirists to poets, in everything from creative writing and beginning fiction to getting published and overcoming writer’s block.

StoryStudio also hosts a Sunday Writing Cafe twice a month. So bring your laptop and the NYT Book Review, plug in at one of the tables, and tap out some bon mots in the company of other aspiring writers. Of course, we know you’ll end up in the break room sipping coffee, munching on snacks, and making a new BFF.

After all, you’re like that book in your beach bag.

Easy to read.

StoryStudio, 3717 North Ravenswood Avenue, at Addison and Lincoln Avenues, suite 115 (773-728-8441 or storystudiochicago.com).
