Curling Iron Classes at Brilli Salon

Upon close review of your Bon Jovi concert pics — crunchy spirals, curled bangs, and unsightly burns on your neck and hands — you wisely put down the curling iron.
But your current plastered-to-the-head look is falling flat.
Brilli Salon can help. This Thursday, they’re hosting a free hands-on curling iron class where you can learn three looks: the lazy wave (a la Eva Longoria), the spiral tong set (per Jessica Simpson), and the barrel roll (Christina Aguilera doing her best Veronica Lake).
The stylists will show you some of the tricks of the trade (like choice products and how to avoid fishhooks), while giving you the chance to perfect your technique under their watchful eye.
All you have to bring is a dry head of hair and your own curling iron. If yours went down in a blaze of glory, no worries: You can buy one at the salon.
Just be sure to leave the banana clip at home.
Brilli Salon, 3334 North Ashland Avenue, between Henderson and Roscoe Streets (773-755-4247 or brillisalon.com). Class is October 5, 6-8 p.m. R.S.V.P. required.
