You believe that the pink stuff is better than Equal. That all couches should be overstuffed. And that you can never have too many tees in your closet.
But ghosts? Pfft, you don’t believe in ghosts. After all, that healthy dose of skepticism keeps you sane.
If you need to see it to believe it, spend a night with CGI: Chicago Ghost Investigations, the city’s first interactive spirit stalking tour. From the Water Tower you are transported (with other thrill seekers and disbelievers) to one of twelve actively haunted locations around town.
After a brief lesson in using specialized ghost-hunting equipment — night vision, electromagnetic field meters, infrared thermometers, dowsing rods — you’re off to search the site for paranormal activity. A CGI guide sticks around to help, but you decide where the night takes you and what (dare we say, whom?) you uncover. (Hoo hoo ha ha ha.)
Scared of things that go bump in the night? Take the afternoon tour. Just remember to bring a camera (say cheese, Casper) and an open mind.
Then you can decide for yourself if life after death is a trick or a treat.
Chicago Ghost Investigations, pickup/drop-off on the west side of the Old Water Tower, at Chicago and Michigan Avenues (773-935-6332 or ghostsofchicago.com).
