Green as a Whistle

You rubbed elbows with Johnnie and ended up a Walker (of shame). After hanging with Jim, your friends nicked the keys to your Beamer. And you were practically arrested after that incident with Jack Daniels.

Take a seat next to sobriety at the Butterfly Social Club, a new juice joint from the owner of Funky Buddha Lounge, opening tomorrow.

Made of sand, clay, and straw (no trees were harmed in the making of this shop), it’s got a bar shaped like a butterfly wing, a solar-powered sound system, and leafy plants sprouting from the walls.

The best part of all is the custom-made recumbent bike in the front window that generates Butterfly’s power. (And when ridden, it harnesses the wheels’ kinetic energy for electricity.)

Amp up for your (optional) ride with a slew of organic elixirs like Alaskan wildflower extracts, Chinese herbal formulas, and enzyme-packed honey that you’ll suck down faster than you can say “biodegradable straw.”

See? It’s pretty easy being green. And it sure beats blacking out.
