One-Stop Pop
Dip and Pop Opens

Cravings are strange little buggers. Case in point: the pregnant friend who puts a hot dog on a Cinnabon and calls it brunch.
Not that you can talk, what with your oat pretzels with strawberry icing and chocolate Frosties with chili fries.
For sweet and savory treats actually worth eating, head to Dip and Pop, Chicago’s first ice-cream-and-popcorn-combo shop.
Here’s the scoop: The tiny grab-and-go Loop location serves 24 ice cream flavors (like apple cinnamon, banana cream pie, and mint chip) and five popcorns (including butter, caramel, and Chicago, a caramel and cheese mix) as well as shakes, floats, and malts.
You can mix it up (cheesy popcorn plus coffee toffee ice cream) or keep the two separate (but equal).
Try not to go nuts on your first visit.
Because once you pop, you just can’t stop.
Dip and Pop, 63 East Madison Street, between Wabash and Michigan Avenues (312-629-1777).
