Everybody Wants to Get Hi

Hi Tea Chicago

let's get hi!

When you want to relax, you do it with a substance of the herbal variety. With sweet tunes and good buds, it’ll be one chill afternoon.

At South Loop tea house Hi Tea, you can relax all you like. And chances are, you’ll never get arrested.

Kettles are filled with dried fruits, leaves, and herbs from Japan, China, Sri Lanka, India, South Africa, and Argentina and change seasonally. Hours are flexible, staff is knowledgeable, and the vegan-friendly menu includes tofu burritos, almond butter and jam sandwiches, salads, soups, and local gelato.

Located across from Columbia’s film school, the shop is a veritable student showcase, with artwork and indie videos looping on multiple flat-screens. Quirky paraphernalia (random family movies, antique tea pots) round out the homey ambiance.

Hi Tea is now gearing up for weekend breakfast and brunch and a cast of live, local musicians.

Sounds like our cup of tea.

Hi Tea, 14 East 11th Street, between Wabash Avenue and State Street (312-880-0832 or hiteachicago.com).
