Say Cheese

Grandma Elaine’s Mac ’n’ Cheese

thanks, grandma!

Her hearing may be shot. But, boy, can she cook.


Grandma Elaine’s 
Mac ’n’ Cheese
Serves 8

Ingredients
1 pkg. elbow macaroni
3 tbsp. butter
3 tbsp. flour
Milk
1 pkg. shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 pkg. sliced sharp cheddar cheese

1. Cook noodles then rinse in cold water.

2. In a saucepan, melt the butter. Add flour slowly to form a roux.

3. Stir milk slowly into saucepan until mixture reaches desired thickness.

4. Add shredded cheese to mixture and stir until melted.

5. Pour noodles and saucepan contents into casserole dish and stir.

6. Lattice the casserole with pieces of sliced cheese.

7. Bake at 350ยบ until golden brown (approximately 25 minutes).
