Plateau Blu Salon Opens

The team: DailyCandy scientists.
The attire: lab coats, hidden snack pockets.
The hypothesis: Not all salon folk are bitchy.
The mission: Find at least one pleasant salon in Chicagoland.
After an exhaustive search, we found Plateau Blu, a Bucktown salon that quietly opened a few months ago. With a lounge-like aesthetic (exposed brick, light installations, flat-screens) and sugary sweet staff, you’ll want to stay there all day.
Stylists Johnny Benline and Bianca Uzarraga are experts in cutting and coloring everything from long, straight mops to coarse, frizzy dos. Hair extensions, Japanese straightening, and permanent waves are also on offer. Leave with a personalized sheet listing every product used on your hair and why.
Prices will make your ends split (specials include $25 blowouts and $55 women’s cuts). Every other month Plateau Blu offers styling classes (flat irons, finishing).
An upstairs spa will open come summer.
Really, nothing comphairs.
Plateau Blu, 2064 North Western Avenue, between Charleston Street and Dickens Avenue (773-227-8787 or plateaublu.com).
