It’s Just a Phaiz
Phaiz Gallery: Fashion and Art Collide

Between ADD, ADHD, and SUSS (Straight-Up Spaz Syndrome), you have a short attention span.
Which is why you need to check out Phaiz.
The permanent boutique-cum-exposition space houses temporary shows by artists, fashion designers, and sculptors alike.
The dealio: Each month, a visiting creative installs an exhibit within Phaiz’s walls. Pieces vary from whimsical (strings cascading from above) to urban (robot graffiti). In addition, Phaiz invites a fashion designer to showcase exclusive designs that are available for purchase.
This month, floral artist Suzanne Cummings decks out Phaiz with hanging bouquets and an old-school slide show of her Texas home, while Chroma Designs and Backbone Fashion make aprons from silk, denim, and chiffon, adding frilly ribbons and other girlish adornments.
Now if that doesn’t hold your attention, we don’t know what will.
Phaiz, 673 North Milwaukee Avenue, at Ancona Street (312-226-9070 or phaizchicago.com). Opening reception, this Friday, 7-11 p.m.
