Miranda’s Right

Nomadic Ant Jewelry

first class!

Insects really bug you out?

Nomadic Ant won’t make your skin crawl. It’s a jewelry line designed by young artisans in Colombia, India, Vietnam, Lao, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Morocco, and Burma.

Suzanne Miranda heads up the operation, working directly with artists she’s encountered during her travels. Her goal: to promote remote village artisans as well as young urban artists who would otherwise go unseen.

Miranda collaborates with the artists (she also creates her own designs), focusing on pure silver and natural jewelry made from seeds, shells, and wood. Most of the pieces have a tribal feel — oversize wooden rings with bamboo, brass cutouts, leather cuffs, and beaded earrings.

See? No need to have ants in your pants.
