This summer, you’re on the healthy-eating front lines. You battle bakeries and avoid additives with ammo.

Just when you think you’ve won — ambush! You can’t hide, so you have to scream.

For ice cream. It’s the Piccolo gelato cart. And it’s comin’ to get ya. The cart has been seen lurking at the Wicker Park Farmers Market and roving along Damen and West Division Streets, silently sniffing out sweet tooths.

You slowly raise your white flag, surrendering to the force of the creamy, indulgent treat. You’d die for the chocolate. Pistachio holds you prisoner. You’re tortured by vanilla. And you’d give an arm for the summery sorbets (mojito, lemon).

Talk about a snack attack.

Available Thursday, 1-6 p.m.; Friday, 3-7 p.m.; Saturday, 1-5 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., at various locations around town.
